    Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth stuck

Hi. I've been having problems deleting / modifying files for example in the Program files folder. It wouldn't let me modify / delete them even though I'm definitely using an Administrator account. For certain files it would say "You must have Read Permission to view the properties of this object".

Doing a bit of research, I read that running the Dism commands may be a solution so I tried it. I ran Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth and it completed ("The component store is repairable"), but Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth has been stuck at 83.9% for more than 10 hours now. Is it normal? If not, is there any way to know why it's stuck and what should I do?

    Thanks

To troubleshoot the restorhealth command result you can view:
    C:\windows\logs\dism\dism.log

To fix component store corruption you can perform an in place upgrade repair:

Thanks, but I ended up using Tweaking.com - Windows Repairs. Solved the problem.

Tweaking.com like other troubleshooting steps has its success and failure rates as well as pitfalls.

I'm glad that you found a fix.

The in place upgrade repair is commonly used to fix restorehealth and scannow problems.

    Hello Christopher,

Is this for an Insider build of Windows 10?

There's currently a known issue below listed for the latest 19582.1001 build, but has been an issue for a while now.

We’re looking into reports where, when running corruption repair (DISM), the process will stop at 84.9%

    Hello Brink,

No, I actually had this problem in version 1809, before I updated. Maybe just a coincidence?
