    File Transferring Pauses/Freezes

I'm moving a large file from an SSHDD to an SSD. It will either crawl at kbps speeds, go up to 50mbp and max out at 260 before coming to a screeching halt. I'll wait a few minutes and it will repeat the cycle. Also does this on smaller files too.

    Ryzen 9 3900x
    32Gigs ram

The computer runs perfectly fine and explorer doesn't even crash.

Hi, you could run chkdsk on both disks e.g.
    chkdsk x: /scan

    to verify the file system.

Is there any evidence from your task manager of excessive CPU or RAM usage during this?

See disabling antivirus software resolve the problem.

How are the disks connected? E.g.
    - via a network
    - both internal
    - both via USB
    - one internal, one via USB
    etc etc

You could try in Safe Mode if appropriate; otherwise a clean boot.

It sounds like some sort of buffering is going on, but you have plenty of RAM. How large is the file?

And you might consider copying then delete just in case something goes wrong.

Robocopy (it has a GUI tool too) might be worth considering.

+1 dalchina on copy versus move. I wonder if TeraCopy or anything similar will work better, and such often displays a progress bar during operation.
