Unclean shutdowns & reboots from sleep. Syncing or power supply error?

My computer keeps shutting down from sleep mode without shutting down. It's connected to a UPS so it's not an outage. It could be the power supply unit (I bought a cheap one after the last one gave out, just to see if the motherboard was wrecked.) I noticed that the shutdown last night was at the same time my phone synced with the computer. I don't know how that would happen. I also have a lot of critical events over some zune app. I'll see if I can post something here if I remember how.Any way to test if it's a power supply problem without ripping out the thing?

Have you tried ---sfc /scannow---for three times,followed by ---dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth---
Might be a faulty file and is worth a try.

I tried the first part but not the second. I'll research that here and give it a shot. Thanks.

Hi again. Tried it. The report is that all's well. I just upgraded about a week ago. This problem was worse in Windows 7 and only happened once in 10. Last night it went into a kind of hibernation I've never seen. I had to press the on button to turn it on but it didn't say "resuming windows" as it does in hibernation (which I have turned off). Go into---powercfg /help---and scroll down to the "hibernate" switch,then use it to disable "hibernate".See if that does anything.
There may be other switches there which could be of interest.I never use hibernate so am not fully up to speed with it,apart from fiddling around with the switches.

Hybrid sleep is already off.

My system only shows "hibernate",not "hybrid"

In advanced power options there's an option to enable hybrid sleep, then underneath it... here's a picture...

Yes I am aware of that one,however my reference was to---powercfg--- and those switches alone.We are at cross purposes, when you used the word :hibernation" I took it that was what you meant.

Sorry, did you mean, you meant to type into command prompt. Not too familiar with that tool but I got this.

Yes,in the search box,type in ---cmd--- select "run as administrator" then type in---powercfg /help--- which gives a long list of switches,one of which is "hibernate" and allows you to enable/disable the function.
It is advisable to image before using,just in case of finger trouble.
