Startup programs slow to load after Win10 upgrade

I have my computer workstation at my office set up to automatically start Outlook and Autodesk Revit (architectural design software) when I log in each morning. The machine stays on all the time, but I log out in the evening and then log back on in the morning. This is a domain environment so I press Ctrl Alt Del and then log on. The usual background programs start, and then Revit and Outlook also start. I did this by placing shortcuts to these two programs about a year or so ago in the Win7 Startup folder for my user account.

Now since upgrading to Win10, it seems like these two programs in particular take much longer before I even see them start to load. This is a custom built i7 quad core workstation with Windows running on a Crucial MX500 SATA SSD. Previously on Win7 these two programs would display their splash screen startup logos within maybe 5 seconds of the desktop showing up after log on. Now it takes maybe 20-30 seconds before those 2 programs start their "startup" process.

What could be causing this increased load time for these programs? This is on Win10 version 1909 Build 18363.592, installed on 29 December 2019.

In task manager then startup what does it say about the impact for those programs. Do thy load anything from your domain profile which could slow them down

They both say high impact. I'm just wondering why they seemed to load much faster on Win7 than they do now on Win10.

Also our profiles are stored locally on the workstations. We don't use roaming profiles or anything like that.

Open Device manager. Is there any yellow alerts of missing drivers?

Installing Win 10 over Win 7 isn't the best solution. Have you considered on doing a Clean Install Windows 10 ?

Yes I normally prefer a clean install, but I had a whole bunch of workstations that I had to upgrade from Win7 before Jan 14, so in-place upgrades is how I chose to proceed.

Why do you have to "upgrade" from Win7 before Jan 14 ?
    Aren't they working well?
There is no reason for "upgrade" now. Win 7 will continue to work as they do today.

Because we have financial software that will no longer run on Win7. Plus this is a commercial environment and I prefer we not be using unsupported, non-updated systems.

Ok, so I understand you don't have any choice but to have and live with Win 10.
My only suggestion is to try a Clean install. And it's not guarantee to solve your little issue.

Hi Patrick, have you checked all the other enabled apps on the startup tab of task manager just to be certain that your PC isn't starting far too many apps? Also, as an experiment you could disable all non-critical apps on the startup tab and see if that improves startup time of Outlook and Revit. Possibly even try them one at a time. Possibly 1 of the 2 programs has become corrupted during the upgrade process.
