CPU monitor - any way to LOG at intervals - Get unexpected shutdowns

    Hi there

Is there any software around that LOGS things like CPU usage / temperature every so often. E.g writes specific data to a log file after a user specified time period.

I have a problem where the computer randomly shuts down -- so I've no idea whether it was software, hardware, overheating, poor PSU (bad voltages) etc.

All the monitoring programs - good that they are do an ACTIVE monitoring while you are at the machine. Doesn't help after the machine has shut down. HWMmonitor is good but it doesn't have any logging.

I need to do some POST event analysis. If I'm watching a movie being streamed and the remote computer shuts down I want to be able to see what happened - that's why LOG files would be good -- say a Log every 10 mins of voltages, Cpu temp and Cpu usage.

There are Good programs like HWmonitorr / CPUID - but I need stuff that captures data.

(There's NOTHING in the Windows event logs either of any relevance).

    Cheers

    Hi there

This one looks possible -once I've worked out how to set the logs --

Thanks for the link - I'd probably take a log every 5 mins or so if I can work out how to do it.

+1 -- seems to do what I need -- thanks - I've no trouble massaging from EXCEL file -- BTW you need to re-format the TIME column for excel -- does it automatically with Format Cells (choose the column and choose time)

    Cheers
