Everything will open as it should without any issue. After I've spent a good hour gaming I'll go back to the desktop and some apps won't open and windows seems a bit sluggish. Only way to resolve this issue is to reboot.
Is your version of Windows 10 Pro up to date?

it might be that your cpu or video card is overheating during gameplay so when you get back to windows, it's slow until the cpu cools down, chances are that might be the cause, do you notice if the game gets slower or laggy during play?

I always flush out my ram after gameplay, when I going back to windows, otherwise, the system has to do it, this could also be the cause windows seems slow until after a few minutes
Overheating isn't much of an issue. The fan is always set to max 4000rpm on the 1080 and the cpu is at most 35-40c on the Corsair H150i Pro.
I will try the recommended app. We will see how it goes.
