Hiding labels for certain programs on the taskbar

So, I have a weird-ish question. I multitask a lot, and have the calculator and sticky notes applications running a lot of the time. I also have my taskbar buttons expanded, so I can see what each browser window has on it to quickly switch between them. However, apps that I leave open for long periods of time, like sticky notes, don't really need to have the description on them. Is there any way to make it so that certain apps don't show labels, and the rest of my applications do? I've been looking for a while and I haven't found any similar questions.

    Thanks.

label are an all or nothing option on the taskbar. I think if you want to make some appear and others hidden, you'd have to look third party app. And there I've no clue as to whether such an app exists or not.

    Good luck.

You could 'minimise to tray' - so the icon then appears in the tray with no label. Some 3rd party programs expose this option- e.g. in the drop-down list when rt clicking the title bar. However the GUI would not be visible until you click the tray icon.

    Would that help?

That's the thing - I want to keep the application open on the desktop, I just don't want the taskbar button to be so large.
Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it.

Remove the expanded icons on the taskbar. Just point to the condensed icons and they will popup larger icons that show you what each one is and make it easy to pick the one you want. That's what I do:

The way he came across I didn't even consider that suggestion as that's what I do. His complaint, as I understand it, is that he only wanted certain icons to have names, while others did not...

BTW When you say "Remove the expanded icons on the taskbar" I assume you mean going to the Taskbar properties and under the "Combine taskbar buttons" dropdown box choosing "Always, hide labels"?

There is an idea here that might be of interest:
windows 7 - Hiding the Taskbar Label Only for Specific Applications - Super User
    - possibly the detail at the bottom.

This program does work in Win 10.
