Now with that said, I've used ram cleaning programs like the ones mentioned in the past and they do make a noticable difference that you can see on low to mid end hardware specs. You're personal experience certainly does not reflect the experience another user maybe having.
That's true. Maybe this offers an explanation:

Note: I'm not currently using that program but did use it on Windows 7.

6 GB at my end. I use no memory optimizer.

Just for fun, I tried the Wise Memory Optimiser after reading this thread and after using it for a bit my laptop suddenly turned itself off with neither warning nor anything showing in Reliability Monitor when I rebooted. Ran a full hour-long Lenovo diagnostic on the memory which came up clean, and no repeat of the problem after I removed WMO. So I think I'll have no further truck with memory managers - I don't know what possessed me to ignore my earlier suspicion that they are, at best, snake oil.

Ah, the only way to know for sure is to give things a try for yourself to see how they work. Beauty of being an enthusiast I gues.

This article basically sums up my concerns on the topic

Yes, came across the same article myself - too late to save me from some aggravation! But, as you say, you've got to try these things for yourself if you're an enthusiast...............
