    readyboost?

While cleaning some old sd cards I found ReadyBoost is still available
in the properties of some cards. I haven't really used it since upgrading to 10,
except on a 32 bit netbook (2 gig memory) ,
Does it still give any performance increase in Win 10?
    Does anyone still use it?

Not really an issue. Just curious.

Readyboost is still supported in Windows 10 but is only useful on low end systems. That means a system with less than 2 GB or less RAM and a slow hard drive. With more RAM or an SSD it would do no good at all. With an SSD it would be worse than useless if Windows would use it, which it won't.

Readyboost was introduced with Vista which was often used on such low end systems. It is used as extra storage for Superfetch. RAM is better but with less than 2 GB there won't be enough available. With 4 GB or more there will usually be more than enough.

I was doing file management/cleanup on 2 NAS drives from an older Notebook with only 4GB RAM and File Explorer would freeze often. As a test I put an 8GB SDHC card in the slot and activated ReadyBoost on it. It gave me enough performance increase to complete my project without failure. That does not mean there will be a noticeable performance boost on internal drives but there's always a hit when working across a network so any boost helps.

Windows 10 does run on so many systems, however, I always recommend a decent amount of hardware in the PC. Otherwise, it's always a bad time.
