If they come back, and they did in my case, simply apply the fix. You can always re-apply the original.

    I've had no ill effects.

That error comes up if you are using a Sandbox or VM on a machine. Are you using either or Hyper-Visor? It also appears that you have posted elsewhere with the same request and already had a few replies. Spamming multiple forums is not going to do anything but cause your problem to fall on deaf ears when a search is done to find an answer.

I don't use any of those mentioned software. I don't see this as spamming as you call it, I am posting on another forum simply to assure that more people can see this and to increase the chance of getting (useful) help. Furthermore, I didn't see any replies there when I posted my problem here.

try to receive proper icons from server but stuck in a loop. The solution is in the last post of the link i post from ksuvi khor.

You can recreate the problem every time you open devices and printer your event viewer will have 131 events.

I don't get these errors when opening devices and printers. Not sure what actually triggers these errors at my end.

    Hi Johnny,
Im using Windows 10 Home. At about the same time as you, I started to get the same DeviceSetupManager 131 errors on every bootup. I got 5 on every single boot for 3 or 4 days. The errors weren't causing any issues. On the next day after that the errors disappeared and everything went back to normal and has been fine ever since. I read a post that said Microsoft have Metadata server problems from time to time so you aren't able to connect in a timely fashion. I would just ignore it and see if the problem is at Microsofts end because if it is the errors will disappear on their own when Microsoft rectify the problem with their Metadata servers. The post I read said that they usually fix these servers within a day or two but in my case it took them slightly longer than that
Thanks for the info. Weird, because it hasn't fixed yet in my case. Perhaps I should wait longer in my case.

It was gone for a week and it's back again now. Very random, perhaps something from Microsoft's end?

See my post above. Mine have not come back. Replace that URL with the direct one.

I had a few return 131 errors again three days ago. They disappeared again the following day and haven't reappeared since so its something Im not worried about because Im not having any issues whatsoever. Are you seeing problems with your PC as well as those errors when they occur? I honestly don't know whats going on but my suspicion is its probably something to do with Microsoft's servers, particularly because my PC was a clean installation when I first saw the errors. They started immediately after a clean install

Same errors here from 3 days. Id131, id202, id201 and id200 when i restart, id 131 when i put on a usb drive or open Devices and Printers on the control panel.
I changed url in registry, changed device installation settings to "no", changed the internet time server without success.
I'm going crazy because yesterday and this morning I had no error, now they have reappeared.
Is it possible that is microsoft servers fault? We ALL should have these errors...

Ive started seeing these errors again for the last 3 days and this is immediately after doing a clean installation. Ive no idea why we are getting them at all. I had them previously and they just disappeared on their own without any input from me

I'm seeing this too, but for me it only started a few days ago, I'd not seen the errors previously.
It surely must be a problem at the server end.
Changing the URL in the registry doesn't seem to help.
Hopefully they will sort it out soon. Presumably all Windows 10 users will be seeing this if the device update system is down, but the vast majority aren't aware of it of course!
