Running TRIM on an SSD is not even remotely similar to defragging a HDD. Completely different processes.

This is from Intel own SSD toolbox,

This is my system drive, so weekly makes sense, my apps/ games drive is an SSD but there is very little writing/ deletion going on there so I only trim maybe once a month.
As for defragging a HDD, I use the same methodology, if there have been terabytes of file writes/ deletions over a month I will defrag, else there is not really much point, where as trim doesn't cause wear on an SSD, defrag does cause wear on a HDD, both to the physical media and to the head motor.

If you schedule your Optimise drives UI to run weekly {as illustrated by NavyLCdr} then trim will take place monthly.
    - This is stated in defrag - Microsoft Docs under the heading Scheduled task

So MS seem to regard monthly as being sufficient.

TRIM command does not erase the content of discarded blocks by itself. Instead, it adds them to a queue of pending blocks for being cleared by the garbage collector.

It depends on how much I/O activity is happening, 3-4 days to once a week is probably a good enough for your main OS drive, Windows does a lot of I/O stuff under the hood and Defender is pretty bad with it too, I personally run it on a 3-4 day clock or after a Windows Update.
