    Reliability Monitor is blank

I check Security and Maintenance\Reliability Monitor every so often but recently it has completely stopped showing reports/events. It used to show minor app crashes and events like Windows Defender updates but now shows nothing. I cleared "reported problems" hoping it would reset but still nothing, though the graph line still appears.

A sfc scan did find issues but I cant repair them. The log file indicates a problem with Windows Defender and it somehting I found others experiencing after a search online.

The system runs fine otherwise. Any help appreciated

That Defender problem in SFC is actually a bug, now corrected by the latest Defender Antivirus platform update. You need to use DISM's RestoreHealth option, restart, then use SFC again to fix this. Whether or not that will also fix your reliability report problems remains to be seen.

Well, does anybody know what the hell happened here - yesterday?

    Reliability Monitor is blank-image.png

Only failures are suddenly shown in the whole period.

And before you ask: although I do use CCleaner I did not clear any logs (do not have habit of doing so).

SFC and DISM are obviously returning fine results as well.

When you select the flagged date,12/06/2020,what shows up in the details?

It does show an app that has crashed couple of times on that day.

(Tried to make it run in Windows 7 compatibility mode as I never managed to run it properly on Windows 10 before - but that was pointless as reinstall surprisingly just sorted it out)

All I can see are such failures only - not many - everything else (namely: items reinstalled, removed, updated etc.) are not showing up at all.

    Reliability Monitor is working normally
When any problem is flagged, you should select and view "tech details" for that item and use the information provided to search for a solution,if any.
Lines 1 and 2 are the easiest to check out.
Ccleaner will affect the history recorded.Suggest you uninstall it.

It may be working normally, but does not report everything it should.

Please see how it does pan out on my laptop:

As you can see in case of my main PC so-called 'information events' and 'warnings' are suddenly missing.

Defender and perhaps Ccleaner are the problem, not Reliability monitor.
When you ran dism,as recommended by Bree, what report did it give?
    Try ---dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth---
Go to Settings>update etc>check for updates and see if Defender is fully functional. If it does not give security updates and dism hasn't given any errors, then give serious thought to a clean install.
Use Macrium and a USB HDD for the image before clean installing.
The use of third party programmes,Macrium excepted,is no longer necessary because of the numerous tools included with Win 10.The practices of XP etc. are over.

Appreciate your input, but had your read my previous posts you would have seen that SFC and DISM report fine results.

I also entirely fail to see what Defender has to do with this situation (and yes, it does update itself fine as well).

As you dropped 'clean install' bombshell which is never a solution to such rather trivial but no doubt annoying problem at all, I think I will await rather more creative input if you don't mind (notwithstanding investigations my end that continue in the background).

    Your courteous reply is noted.
In Post 1,para 2, you claimed a problem with Defender.
In para 2 stated it was continuing.
Nowhere in subsequent posts was it ever "fixed".
The "obvious" operation of dism is not obvious via your posts.
Reliability Monitor is reporting faults,as it should.Defender carries out the downloading,Monitor only confirms success or failure.
Should Defender not operate normally, neither will Monitor.
