Major slowing issues since October cumulative update?

Hi, installed the October cumulative about two or three days ago, and have noticed the system is much slower to sleep, shut down and reboot than it was before.

I'm unable to revert back to the previous build as Windows seems to think I installed this more than 10 days ago and the option isn't there.

Is there any reported issues with this update and how do I get around it?

    Advice appreciated.

Have you run Disk Clean-up Tool (Cleanmgr.exe)?

Actually hadn't, just did that now, wasn't REALLY a lot of gunk in there and interestingly no update files at all - but I'll let you know how that went re: sleep etc. Thanks for the reply.

No, that didn't help. Any other ideas?

A cumulative update should be uninstallable. Do you perhaps mean you upgraded to build 1903 - a feature update?

Please post a screenshot of your task manager, Processes tab organising any column of interest high to low by clicking on the appropriate column header.

How much free space have you on C: ?

What is your full build number?
Sadly it's not a forum requirement, so we have to keep on asking...

No, I meant a cumulative update. I was already at 1903. This is why I can't understand why I can't revert.

This one seemed open and shut to me. Everything instant, then update, and everything stops being instant.

Thanks for the response, does my info help?

I'm unable to revert back to the previous build as Windows seems to think I installed this more than 10 days ago and the option isn't there.
The 10 day period is relevant to feature updates (upgrades): Windows.old is automatically deleted after 10 days.

18362.388 is the same as mine. Build 1903 - and this is the latest CU:
    Cumulative Update KB4524147 Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.388 - Oct. 3

    - from the News section here. There seems nothing exceptional about it- feel free to read the comments following. That said, what's fine for most may not work for all, and MS has history here.

Do you have this uninstall option here?

    Try this check: run
    chkdsk c: /scan
from an admin command or Powershell prompt.

installed the October cumulative about two or three days ago, and have noticed the system is much slower to sleep, shut down and reboot than it was before.
How long does it take from a cold boot to lock screen now, and how does that compare to previously?
What sort of disk is your system disk?

I've already explained Windows is in error thinking this CU was more than 10 days ago.

    Well ok?

No, in fact the update doesn't exist in add/remove at all. Which is very odd.
    Try this check: run
    chkdsk c: /scan
from an admin command or Powershell prompt.
    Already have. All clean.

Cold boot is fine - same as it was. It's reboot, going to sleep and shutdown I have the issues with. That's what I've been referring to this whole thread.
What sort of disk is your system disk?
    I explained it's an SSD? A 500GB SSD.

If the October Cumulative you refer to is the one dalchina referenced is his post

Major slowing issues since October cumulative update?

it cannot be uninstalled. It is a required Security update.

From the link and post Cumulative Update KB4524147 Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.388 - Oct. 3

"IMPORTANT This is a required security update that expands the out-of-band update dated September 23, 2019. This security update includes the Internet Explorer scripting engine security vulnerability (CVE-2019-1367) mitigation and corrects a recent printing issue some users have experienced. Customers using Windows Update or Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) will be offered this update automatically. To help secure your devices, we recommend that you install this update as soon as a possible and restart your PC to fully apply the mitigations. Like all cumulative updates, this update supersedes any preceding update.
Note This update does not replace the upcoming October 2019 monthly update, which is scheduled to release on October 8, 2019."

Well that's interesting, because I just uninstalled it. Which helped significantly with sleep time, but not so much with reboot.

I remained a little puzzled. And I'm not sure I'm getting the help I was hoping for here.

I appreciate the attempts, but I remain nonethewiser.
