Hello,Finally upgraded to 1809 version. Thanks to the forum for all the guidance. After installing several updates and some 'tweeks' to the taste, this system boots slower then 1803 I left.Noticed in the Task Manager lot of processes running (many new), Apps-5, Background processes-36, Windows processes-80.Is there some way to remove some of them make the list smaller without harming the system, and make boot faster.Answers will be appreciated.ThanksMotimPS. How do I update my system spec on the forum's site. Thanks

Have you checked startup programs they can slow down boot time.

On Windows 10, apps you install have been designed to run in the background to download data, show toast notifications, and fetch information to display up-to-date updates in their Live tiles in the Start menu.

However, having many apps running in the background can eat up valuable resources and waste power. Here’s how to prevent them from doing so.

    1. Open the Settings app by pressing the Windows Key + I shortcut keys.

    2. Select Privacy, then Background apps on the left sidebar.

    3. On the "Background apps" page use one of the two options:

    • Turn off the Let apps run in the background toggle switch to disable all apps acquired from the Store.
    • Turn off the toggle switches for the specific apps you don't want to run in the background.

Once you complete these steps, the Windows 10 apps you configured will no longer run in the background.

Autoruns is an excellent utility to check/disable what runs at start up

Turn off auto updates for the MS Store as well, do it manually.
Boot can be a bit of a bun fight as everything tries to update at the same time, telemetry reports et al.
I run as much as possible from manual triggers.
Running 'metered connection' will reduce network traffic volumes as well. I've A/B'd it on and off on a few W10 machines over the years.
