I use CCleaner Pro on a daily basis without any problems. When I want to use a Secure Delete I take the Drive out into the drive and use a sledge hammer on it.
I do that to expired drives else remove the cover and display the drive platter in my museum of expired PC components!

I may be a bit paranoid, but I am wondering what others think about usefulness of the overwrite function.
If the data is really overwritten, logically just once should be enough. If it is not done for real, you can overwrite it a million times and it will not make any difference. BTW, that is not a real paranoia, that would be saying, that 1TB HDD has like 100TB hidden, so no data is ever gone.

I like saving the magnets from spinner drives. It's fun to try to pry them apart.

I do a complete image, I am not about to remove a Browser every time I do one.
I thought an earlier post meant removing browser cache, only the browser cache.

Freebooter, I think my brain is "self-corroding" -- anyway, adding to the topic -- I have used Ccleaner for years, carefully and surgically, have had no problems at all.

If you read/write more data on your disk, your hard drive will age faster.
