If the data is really overwritten, logically just once should be enough. If it is not done for real, you can overwrite it a million times and it will not make any difference. BTW, that is not a real paranoia, that would be saying, that 1TB HDD has like 100TB hidden, so no data is ever gone.
I like saving the magnets from spinner drives. It's fun to try to pry them apart.
Freebooter, I think my brain is "self-corroding" -- anyway, adding to the topic -- I have used Ccleaner for years, carefully and surgically, have had no problems at all.
