I have a laptop which has some problems with corruption. After sfc /scannow I did run dism../RestoreHealth and it returned the above error.
I do not have the initial install disk and the version is 1803 /17134.950 so my question is if I can use the image(obviously way more recent} I have just downloaded through MediaCreationTool1903?

Hi, Windows 10 does not rely on the distribution of install disks as Win 7 did, for example.
The iso's of all builds of Win 10 are freely downloadable using e.g.
Heidoc iso downloader
(Google e.g.)
The Microsoft Media Creation tool generally only makes available the latest build.
You have two options if you wish to use an iso file (or a bootable disk) as you have build 1803.
a. If Windows Update is working on your PC and you have never been offered an upgrade to 1809 or 1903 then I suggest the safest route is an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data using a build 1803 iso
b. If you have been offered an upgrade to 1903 or you are very confident your PC is not elderly and is compatible with 1903, then you could try upgrading to 1903.
Of the two, (a) is the more straightforward.
Your specs say nothing (Win 8) so I can't comment on your PC.
However, build 1803 is at end of life, and 1803 users are actively being offered upgrades by MS. So if you haven't, be careful.
Before you make any major changes, follow tenforums so often given advice- create a current disk image of Windows using e.g. Macrium Reflect (free/paid).
I would also recommend you check your disk e.g. HD Tune, Health and Error Scan tabs, and if ok run
chkdsk c: /scan
from an admin command or Powershell prompt
as a matter of course before the above.

You could just run the Restorehealth command whilst connected to the internet [as given in SFC, Option 3 - TenForumsTutorials]

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log
So it looks like it is time to upgrade. Preferably would be to upgrade and keep programs and data.

Tried it with the same negative result.
Was your internet connection active? Did you use an admin command prompt?
Be careful how you use your iso. Please follow my first post carefully and consider what you're trying and why. We still have no idea of your PC specs.
Your options with an iso are 1803 or 1903. Either keeps all. If you choose 1903 in particular, try without accepting updates, and make sure you remove any 3rd party AV. (Avast seems ok).
Create a disk image first. If you end up with an unbootable PC that gives you a way back.

Update:
After I run; "chkdsk C: /r" I checked the update/security and the 1903 update "offer" came up.
So now all is updated and working well.

I have run sfc's scans and chkdsk's after the upgrade to 1903. In fact I noticed that error in another scan before upgrading.
Is the error serious enough to warrant another SSD?

SFC errors relating to Defender powershell modules are not an indication of drive errors. This is a known bug. See:

Check what your SFC errors were with Option Five in this tutorial. If they were all for Defender/powershell, you can relax.

As it seems this did not complete, did you see a failure message?
