    Lenovo H515.

For the last two days i have been getting this pop up when booting my PC it doesn't seem to have had any negative effect but it is annoying, does anyone here have a clue what it means or a fix, thanks in advance.

I haven't changed anything in this time.

Hi, I used Google for you:
    Lenovo*.vbs

    This suggested:
Solved: Boot Error: "Can not find script file "C:\ProgramData\Lenovo-85.vbs" - Lenovo Community

FWIW this PC is a Lenovo, but no Lenovo*.vbs anywhere.

    Noting your post here:
    H515 - Lenovo Community

if Autoruns has no reference to that file directly, it's possible something else being launched is responsible.

If so, it may become a matter of elimination by disabling things and finding a scenario on which it doesn't occur and so identifying the culprit.

    Other approaches:
    - use a system restore point - it might succeed
    - restore from a recent disk image (assuming you use this routinely as is so often recommended here).

Thanks dalchina, as you can see from the other thread (other site) i have tried to find it but have been unsuccessful, i thought there might be a simple way of fixing the problem but it looks like its going to take time with no guarantee of success so as its not causing any problems i will continue to close the popup i see at boot as it doesn't appear again until next time i boot.

    For the last two days
    - is a possible clue- check for any background driver updates (bottom of Update History) e.g.

There are several such cases reported in the context of Lenovos, so suggests some sort of Lenovo utility.

I'd start with Autoruns and searching for anything Lenovo related.

Lenovos seem to have their own system update scheduler. Check if anything happened there a couple of days ago - here's mine:

My guess would be you're seeing a consequence of that.

I couldn't find lenovo system update so have installed it and its updating now.

How often do you run this or is it scheduled to run?

That's no surprise... I wouldn't have expected using that to fix that unless something related to it starting was overwritten.

I was hoping you'de already got it installed and that explained this happening in the background as a Lenovo update.

    So back to earlier comments.

    - process of elimination and detective work.
    and check Update History.
