Service Host Memory Leak Windows 10

    Hi,

Recently my RAM has been getting used up by the 50 or so service host processes. I can see the processes slowly increase their memory usage over time. This is my task manger soon after startup, and then 40 minutes later, without running any applications.

After a few hours of this my applications start crashing until I restart my PC and repeat. I believe this started after I uninstalled the Avast antivirus in favor of windows.

    Welcome to TenForums.

All 3rd-party AVs can be notoriously difficult to uninstall completely. That's why they all provide removal utilities.

If you have not already done so, use the Avast Uninstall Utility to clean up any remains.

Never heard of it, so I had to look it up. Seems that it's not all it claims to be....

    What is Segurazo?
The Malwarebytes research team has determined that Segurazo is a "system optimizer". These so-called "system optimizers" use intentional false positives to convince users that their systems have problems. Then they try to sell you their software, claiming it will remove these problems.

From the screenshots in the above link, it seems that Segurazo is a 'lookalike' for Malwarebytes ADWCleaner. It may have come packaged with more than you bargained for. I strongly recommend that you scan your system with the real ADWCleaner for any other malware that may have found its way onto your system.

The real ADWCleaner can be found here:
