It is almost certainly a known issue with the current Defender Platform update. Microsoft have acknowledged this, saying to ignore it for now as it is being incorrectly flagged. It will be fixed in the next Defender Platform update.

To confirm you have just this Defender issue, use Option Five in this tutorial to look at the SFC errors being reported.
Run SFC Command in Windows 10
For non hash mismatch problems related to Microsoft defender run these commands:
1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
2) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
4) sfc /scannow
5) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread
I am kinda a noob at this new OS so please forgive me and thanks to everyone that has replied.

The Windows version / build is insiders and you can send feedback.
If you choose to troubleshoot these files may display the underlying problem(s):
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
C:\Windows\Logs\Dism\Dism.log
For Windows 10 an in place upgrade repair is another method to fix scannow problems.
See if there are Windows 10 insider iso available.
If you can locate an iso for Windows insider this is a tutorial:

Disk errors are one known cause for SFC to fail with 'Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation'. Run Chkdsk.
Also, being an Insider version it may be a bug. Your Insider version is not the current one, it's about a month old. This is the latest...

Scannow corruption related to Microsoft defender was fixed in two threads by running the DISM commands.
1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
2) sfc /scannow
3) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
4) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
5) sfc /scannow
6) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread
