Again, nothing to indicate the bandwidth is affected by any app. I re-read your first post, and I don't see any mention of how you tested those speeds. Speedtest? Something else? That's not clear.

Yes 3 different speed test sites all gave the same result 20 Mbps logged in as normal and as hidden administrator (see earlier post) and 60+ Mbps in safe mode, i have just checked again using my laptop on the same Ethernet cable and again i got 60+ Mbps on that also.
I have been messing about with this for two days and am thinking of throwing the towel in and buying a USB 2.0 to RJ45 LAN Ethernet Network Adaptor and see if that sorts it they are only £3 on ebay so its worth the gamble.
I don't know if this applies to Lenovo computers, however I did have an performance issue with my Dell laptop when I installed a new BIOS version. The BIOS used by Dell has a setting that throttles the computer when it discovers an old or non-OEM power adapter. This is apparently a way to avoid liability from potential major issues such as a fire. I switched my power adapter to another almost unused spare, and immediately the performance improved.
Thanks, i have just noticed my clock was wrong i never noticed after i took it back to factory settings yesterday so i am now wondering if its a flat CMOS battery is causing problems with BIOS this have any effect on the connection speed.
I'm not an expert on networking and LAN adapters, but I noticed something. May be nothing. MBs have an integral (built in) LAN on the board. When you were running your tests in Safe Mode, you were likely using that adapter, not the Lenovo card. Again, this is a guess on my part. The MB adapter may be fully functional, whereas the Lenovo card is a little, well.... funky. I presume you have all the latest drivers for that card.
Somebody with more knowledge of all this may be able to help further. I've just about exhausted my bountiful bucket of knowledge on this. Sorry I couldn't help more.

You need to close all apps and post the info with highest total byses/sec at the top. Get the speedtest app from the Microsoft Store in Windows 10. Also get iPerf and place in two machines with one being the server. It will allow you to see what is going on within the network, Speedtest app will allow you to run without any browser add-ins possibly causing issues.

I may have misinterpreted something you posted. When you said the machine was several years old and you set it back to factory, I thought you meant you reset the BIOS back to factory. That would definitely zap the clock. But, I have seen, and done, resets of the OEM partition that put the time zone and all related back to something other than correct. Best check all your time settings, if you haven't already, for correct Zone and all. You probably have, just bringing it up.
