Very slow POST process upon cold boot but fast reboots

Not 100% sure it's the operating system, but will give it a shot.
MSI Titan GT80-SLI: from a cold boot, takes 4.5 minutes to get to Win10 login screen. A reboot takes 29 seconds. What's up?

I think it's something that hangs it before the operating system loads, am I correct?
I optimized Win10 bootup as much as possible. Fast Boot disabled in BIOS. I looked at all the obvious things. The system is all SSD, it should fly and it does - when I reboot it. But a cold boot takes forever. Why such discrepancy?
I get no errors during POST, it's just very slow.

Housekeeping. In msconfig.exe do a Clean Boot to troubleshoot.

It suggests a hardware problem on cold boot the BIOS searches for hardware on reboot it doesn't as it knows what's there. So it could be struggling to find hard drive or there is a irq/dma conflict it true to resolve

So how do I troubleshoot it?

The machine only has SSD, not HDD in it.

I will try it. But it seems all of the trouble is during POST, once it hits the MSI spash screen, it boots from there pretty quickly.

Press and hold Power Button for about 15 sec’s to clear EC. See this for how to find out boot time in Event Viewer. How to Use Event Viewer to Find Your PC’s Boot Time

The BIOS has to move some data to RAM during boot phase. If there is a unknown issue that you cannot find with RAM or hardware, it can cause the POST to take longer. See https://www.blackhat.com/docs/eu-14/...Viewpoints.pdf how the bios works. The only difference with UEFI is that it has to go through security checks in the beginning. https://link.springer.com/content/pd...31163-7_18.pdf

I enabled Fast Boot and that made the system boot in under 30 seconds again.. instead of 4:30 minutes.
    This means cold boots.

I don't know why I ever disabled that feature.

Probably troubleshooting in the past or working with another OS.

could be. Come to think of it, that should have been the first thing to try.

That's disturbingly slow with disabled fast boot, it should only be around 10 seconds or so slower (Sometimes barely any difference) with fastboot enabled.
