Clipboard History still will not work

I know some other users have had this problem but nothing I have read has cured it for me yet, including the reg edit suggested on this site --- have activated (ie. merged) this correctly. If my memory is correct I could not get the History before the May / July update so that is not the culprit. When I click Win+V all I get is the empty Clipboard History window. And by 'history' I mean the most recent Clips as well as earlier ones. Current clips are saved buy two third party apps, fortunately, so the Copy function does actually work, it is specifically Windows Clipboard History with the most recent addition to the Board which is kaput.

I found the History useful and am at a loss to know what to do to get it back.

Thanks for the links, but I have read them all, and none of the actions have worked. History was working for a few weeks then stopped suddenly. There may be no connection but it reminds me of what happened with Timeline which worked for a while before stopping. The solution was the enable / disable reg edit in one of the articles. To me it is very similar to the one for Pasteboard History but alas that has not worked.

To see what happens with my Android Tablet and Phone, which use the MS Arrow Launcher, I have selected sync in Settings. Where would the copied Clips appear if the system is working? I have not seen any sign of them yet, though things like Timeline sync quickly between my PC and Android devices.

You might see what happens if you create a new user for test purposes. If still a problem, consider an in-place upgrade repair install - unless this is some 1903 bug e.g. related to an update.

Your suggestion prompted me to see what happens with the only other Windows account I have (It was created by a tech advisor) but my attempts to use several passwords failed. How can I reset this password, without a password
    disk,
    which I don't have?

I read the PM ---- thanks. For simplicity (an essential quality for me) is it possible to just remove the account, without a password? There is nothing there I need access to. I presume I can add another account anyway, to see what happens with Clipboard History in that?

MS Support have sent me instructions on how to edit the registry to fix no Clipboard History. I may eventually have to try that but am reluctant as I have little experience of registry editing, I follow advice to steer clear of it. The fairly simple editing fix to Enable / Disable in the articles on this site are about my level of competence, but they have not worked --- so it seems a more detailed procedure (and risky) may be necessary. I realise that all that may be required is to copy / paste all the edits in their email. This may be a time to create a Restore Point first, something I have stopped doing.

I don't believe you've yet tried created a new user for test purposes as I suggested. (post #4). That would distinguish between
    a. A user profile problem
    b. General Windows corruption

If clipboard history works with a new user, then the problem is specific to the existing user, and an in-place upgrade repair install would not be relevant. Otherwise, it would.

System restore: Note that using a restore point is well known to be unreliable. Trying to restore using one will do no harm, but many find it fails to complete and leaves the system unchanged. I.e. do not solely depend on this.

You can export (back up) registry keys you are about to change, of course, or the whole registry.

You can delete user accounts of course.

If you have another working Administrator level account then yes, you can delete the account, including it's file (or leave it's files and just delete the account).
