I'd send it back - you shouldn't have to start 'fixing' a new laptop.
Any computer out of the box needs"fixing" of some kind. Windows updates/upgrades, Removing MFG bloat ware/ Trial AV, etc. When I set up a new computer for a client, I make an image of it as is, then clean install Windows with the current version preferably on a new SSD if the client can afford it.
Did one yesterday. New Laptop good specs. Backed up an old computer, pulled the new drive and put it in an external enclosure(instant backup drive for Macrium images) Client had only 60gigs of data on their old 9 yr old computer so installed a 512 gig drive(overkill but...) Transferred data and made an image to start them off on the right foot. Cost them $200 us.

If all else fails I'll just head back to the store and tell them the problem. Right now I'm maximizing what I can do if it's easily fix-able.

A clean installation would be a good idea too (after backing everything up of course).
I'm planning on doing this. I don't really have a lot of files in this laptop except the programs that are needed for work.

When you say "made an image" what exactly does that mean? I'm kinda noob when it comes to those things as I've been only doing reformat.

The battery of my laptop seems off too as it's draining too fast even when I'm just browsing the net and not doing anything intensive. It hasn't been an hour and its down to around 80%

Update: tried to download and play Overwatch, the game is constantly stuttering and this shouldn't be the case for a new gaming laptop.

I assume he means using an application such as Macrium Reflect to take a "snapshot" of all partitions on the drive so that those partitions could be later restored to return the machine to the state it was in at the time of the snapshot----possibly after a drive failure, a virus infestation, or other significant problem that can't be easily resolved.

A system image is done with the forum favorite Macrium Reflect to an external harddrive.

Even though that laptop is a "gaming" laptop it is a "budget" gamer. The only ones I would consiger a real gamer laptop are the ones that cost a lot more. I personally don't use gaming and laptop in the same sentence unless you spend big bucks.

Below is more info about the 1050 laptop graphics.

It's kind of odd because Overwatch isn't demanding. And I've seen benchmarks on reviews that it's running on Ultra smoothly.

My disk usage is, again, at 100% all the time. This is very frustrating and I don't know what else to do.

I've uninstalled McAfee already, still experiencing 100% disk usage. Programs are loading slow, sometimes not responding. I'll just get an SSD tomorrow and see if it still persists.

You can always use it in the next computer if you end up returning this one.

I wish I won't go through the hassle of returning items.

The battery of this laptop seems really off, it only lasts for like about an hour or so, without doing much. Guess I'll have it checked too as its bugging me :/
