I see that startup reverts to selective from normal after reboot. Why would this happen and should it be this way. I had a builder make my PC and perhaps something in the UEFI causes is?
I always though normal was the default under ordinary circumstances.
I think Selective Startup is normal, at least that is what mine is set to as well, Maybe because I haave items disabled in Startup in Task Manager?
It is comforting to know that. I too have some items disabled in startup in task manager.
It may be a setting in the BIOS that causes this, or not? No, I think your observation makes more sense.

I don't think BIOS has anything to do with it. If I get some time I'll play with it a bit and see what I can find out. I'll post results here (if I can remember where here is).
I enabled all items in Task Manager Startup. Also in Services after hiding all Microsoft services.
Set Startup Selection to Normal and rebooted.
Startup Selection was still reset to Selective Startup, so there is more to it that those two areas.
Mine has always reverted to Selective Startup. I think Windows 8 used to do it too.
I've noticed that for several years and never understood it. I went directly from Win 7 to 10 and I'm nearly positive it occurred with Win 7 as well as 10.
