I have to refresh folder to see changed/new files/folders

For example, if I use File Explorer and create a folder in the C:\ directory, i wont be able to see it or edit the name without clicking f5 or refreshing the directory. This becomes annoying as if if i extract a file/folder or rename a folder, I wont see the change without refreshing.

This didn't used to be a problem, I remember recently changing registry keys about the right click context menus but i did not create a backup.

That's a common condition. Many people suffer from it. It tends to come & go. You can often fix it in the short term by restarting the computer. Nobody knows what causes it. Nobody knows what fixes it.

I once wasted a month of my life searching all over & studying online articles about this problem. I tried umpteen different solutions. They were all useless. Some just did nothing. Others looked like they had worked but the problem returned later on.

This problem has been around since WinXP, apparently.

You can use the Feedback Hub to report it [well, add to the existing reports about it].

My advice is - when the problem re-appears, restart when you can but otherwise just accept the situation.
