Task Manager Memory tab not reporting Double Data Rate

    Hi,

Task Manager is reporting a memory speed of 933 MHz instead of 1866 MHz. This value has always been the Double Data Rate, correct? According to CPUZ & Speccy the memory is running at 1866 MHz. The BIOS also reports 1866 MHz.
A number of similar threads indicate that Task Manager is not a dedicated hardware monitoring tool & has it's limitations. Task Manager is doing a good job of monitoring: Single Data Rate.

Is there a setting I'm unaware of?
Perhaps that's how Task Manager displays RAM speed now.

I doubt there is anything you can do about this. I don't know how Task Manager obtains this information as it has never been published. I do know that obtaining such hardware information is far from simple and is prone to error. Even dedicated hardware information utilities sometimes get it wrong.

Maybe in some future update to Windows 10 this will be shown correctly. Or not.

    Hi LMiller7,

That is what my research told as well. This may have occurred after the update to 1903.
I performed a clean install for grins & still shows 933 MHz.
It is, of course, not a real problem.

    Thanks

Note: Had been thru several OS Build updates, thought perhaps it was time for a fresh install anyway.

This is funny because I had issues with task manager always showing incorrect DDR4 speeds, but with build 1903 it fixed itself. For you it's reversed. Don't worry about it. What's important is what the BIOS tells you. Windows is a badly trained dog sometimes. a lot of times.
