may 2019 update [1903] is laggy, any solutions to fix this?

    I upgrade to 1903 may 2019 update..

At first it seems like the system was running well
but I now notice that it feels really laggy.

    Randomly I would notice lag..
Like when I press start button it takes long to show the start menu (full screen)
and when I move mouse I notice it randomly lags.

Even typing words notice, the words would not appear for a bit before it appears as I type on the screen.

Not sure if there is some new background processes in the 1903 that is causing this random lag
    or some other cause

    I got
    ssd, 16gb ram
    windows 10 pro

Hi, please bear in mind that when updating you get a new set of drivers. It may be you are experiencing a problem with one or more of those. This may relate to the age of your PC or perhaps a fully compatible driver being available via MS.

Diagnosis could be possible- technical- using the Windows Performance Toolkit which you can download (Tutorial available) which provides detailed graphical representations of activity on your PC.

Did you upgrade manually - using an iso- which skips all checks MS has put in place?

Also please check activity shown on your task manager. When your PC is nominally idle is CPU use under 3% and other use near zero?

yeah I tried upgrading from my windows usb flash disk (which I created from the iso)
and tried running setup from within windows from that usb disk
but windows said I couldn't upgrade yet message..

So I tried booting from the usb flash and doing the upgrade
and got some similar about not being able to upgrade yet

So finally I ran the setup from windows iso
and was able to upgrade to 1903...

Anyways after first booting into it
and running it for a day or two it seem to run as normal

but now something has happened it is laggy.

If it was an issue with drivers, then it would have been laggy at the first day or two already
but only has happen today or so..

    Note:
    I also enabled windows sandbox
I think i read somewhere that it can cause a performance hit by I think 10 to 20%
can you confirm it does reduce by that much or not?
And can this be the reason?

    Thank you for your reply...

Not necessarily- you may have received driver updates subsequently- see your Update History. Or indeed an update to 1903.

And you may have installed something during that time.

Try a clean boot and compare.

can you confirm if it can affect performance and is it by much %?

how do you do a clean boot?

Logitech drivers should be updated by windows but often aren't.
download the newest but don't install the bloatware gaming stuff (Windows handles it better)
For instance I just downloaded the drivers for k400r keyboard, m570 trackball, and unifying
    drivers.

I've been trying different things to see if anything can be done about the lag.

For people with slowdowns try turning off Background Apps in settings, seems to help with the lag.

-Let apps run in the background (off)

Also uninstall any rarely used Windows Store Apps,
not that all these apps could be the cause of the problem, but I just noticed I had lots of Windows Store apps that I have not used for a long time since installing it.

1903 is still not ready for prime time for some machines.
