Storage sense ON is the devil?

    Hello,

I wonder what do you think about cleaning junk and old files using storage sense, it is good or it is a mess?
    could it replace CCleaner?

    Thanks

Use storage sense if you want, but there's little to gain.
I think it's better than ccleaner. The latter has a reputation for being too aggressive.
In any case, there's a perfectly good alternative: use nothing.

If you are short of storage, just get a bigger drive. Removing "junk files" won't solve your problem.
If you are not short of storage, why do anything?

It is great. You are in effect running disk cleanup automatically on a periodic basis.

One great feature is to automatically clear space on OneDrive - before 1809, this was a manual exercise.

Ccleaner is NOT a good tool and not needed in vast majority of cases.

You obviously do not understand impact of junk files on performance!!

Junk files build up and cause fragmentation or waste space on SSDs (more writing on less space etc). You get more indexing of extraneous files leads to slower pc operation, more files checked by Defender etc.

Storage Sense helps keep pc in a optimum storage state.

Storage Sense is a good feature to have, you need to configure it though before turning it on. I like that it tells you how much space it saved.

Storage sense cleanups only Windows, 3rd party apps are more thorough and can clean other stuff.
