Disk Defrag is not suitable for SSD. In fact it is not needed at all because the Superfetch/Sysmain is not a feature for an SSD. When you have SSD Disk Defragmentation makes no sense. Actually from a lot of articles that I was reading defragging an SSD drive is harmful and could damage it/reduce the life expectancy of it.

Only conventional hard drives require Disk Defragmentation. Hence why when you first install Windows 10 that service is set to manual by default because the system knows that if you have an SSD and the Task Scheduler initiates a fragmentation it is not good or necessary when you have an SSD. Hard drives do not get fragmented in an SSD unlike with a traditional hard drive.

You appear to be reacting to the name not to the reality.
    - When defrag is initiated by C:\Windows\System32\dfrgui.exe it automatically adopts the correct method for the type of drive
    - When defrag is initiated by defrag.exe with the /O argument, it adopts the correct method for the type of drive
    - In the case of SSDs, the correct method is optimisation only, in other words - retrim only.

Exactly, it does what it`s supposed to do to a ssd.
Personally I would not set it to automatic, do it when YOU want to.
