Freezing of various programmes on Laptop

Had been having various problems with laptop which resulted in me using my recovery USB.

    I have a Acer Aspire 3 with Windows 10.

Once the recovery was complete the laptop has had the same issues it had been having prior to the recovery. These were:

    Cortana Freezing intermittently
    Search bar freezing intermittently
Google Chrome freezing intermittently with web pages freezing before opening website
Taking ages for webpages to load even though have good speed of internet (checked through speedtest)
General Freezing of different programmes intermittently
    Generally slow to boot
    Slow when opening programmes

There is nothing on the computer in terms of files clogging up the system which could cause it to freeze.
I have performed a virus check and it is completely clean.
I am at a total loss what to do. The laptop is only 2 months old and had been working fine up until a few days ago and had been incredibly fast.

I would be so grateful if anyone can help me or point me in the right direction.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi mccann88. Welcome to the TenForums @mccann88

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Before we get to far in what version and build of Windows 10 are you running.

Windows key + R, type winver, enter.

I would hope it is on 1809 17763.437 or better.

If 1803 please check your Windows Updates History to see if there are any ongoing failures.

When this occurs are any of the metrics in Task manager running more than 50%. CPU, Memory, Disk. Open Task Manager and click Show more details lower left if details are not showing.

Next if click Start and type Reliability History, click on app. Is something causing Errors. You can expect a couple of info items and some warnings. May have to look at these is no errors.

I assume wireless connection, do you have same issues wired.

Next to the hardware, did you run any diagnostics.

    Memory Test

    MemTest86+ - Test RAM

I would think if memory there would be BSOD's but worth checking.

Next Harddrive, ensure data is backed up off device.
