Are you talking about moving a file on the same drive or to another drive?

This problem has been driving me to tears for weeks and I could not find a solution that worked. I was beginning to hate my computer! Then I came across a site mentioning similar problems due to a recent release of Chrome. After a lot of experimenting I found that the problem did not occur unless chrome was running, but once chrome was running, even if minimised the problem would start after a short while. I have now switched to the Opera browser which is just as good as Chrome and does not cause the problem.

I don't know whether you have the same problem as me but please try this and tell us if it works.
