Why Is Windows Biometric Services Taking So Much CPU?
When I start my laptop, it comes up just fine. But then Windows Biometric Services starts taking 18% of the CPU and stays there until I end the task manually. I have reloaded the Biometric driver, but the issue persists. Any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks

I may have a solution to the high CPU utilization. I had the "Allow Remote Assistance" box checked in System Properties. Don't really know why it was checked in the first place. I removed the check, and the CPU issue has not reoccurred ...

Well, that didn't work ... still high CPU with Windows Biometric Services. I finally just completely uninstalled HP Simple Pass, and the problem seems to be resolved. As I understand it, HP's Simple Pass doesn't play well with Windows 10.

I'm going to mark this one closed. The Windows Fingerprint Scanner software is working just fine. HP's version must have bumped heads with it. Maybe this can help others with the same issue.
