    Excessive CPU Usage

I have a hard time running programs because its always lagging. Even if I run a single tab. Even if I run a single program. And even when it's idle on the desktop screen with no running programs. It always seems to use like near 50% of CPU then goes to 100%. I always kill some processes, services(irrelevant) and all startups in Task Manager but still to no avail. Here's some of my system info:

    Intel Celeron Processor N3350
    Intel HD Graphics
    2GB DDR3 L Memory

I know Windows 10 has the minimum requirement of 2GB Memory to run. But why was this already installed with Windows 10 in the first place. I hope I can find a solution to this, somehow. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi. Welcome to the forum!

    That configuration is extremely limited.

What is the name and model number of the computer?
Was it used and then reloaded with Windows 10?

What type of internal storage do you have? HDD/SSD?

    Thanks.

I guess the model name is Acer Aspire ES1-132
I'm not really sure but I think it was already in Windows 10
Its an HDD one (500 GB and still plenty of room but a lot of cluttered files about)

If you just bought it and can return it, that would be my suggestion.
Linux would be a better choice (like Linux Mint) that uses fewer resources.

How Acer could market this Notebook with W10 (even 32-bit) is beyond me.

Don't expect much from this unit.

I know right. That is what I figured.

But is Linux compatible with a lot of things though? Like, everyday stuff that you would use with Microsoft? ( Excel, Word, Powerpoint) And can I switch back to Windows quickly?

I know this seems stupid, not very computer-literate when it comes to the things I haven't tried lol

If you are not familiar with Linux, please do not attempt it.

There is much free software for Linux that will help, but you need an experienced person to backup what you have, first.
Then Linux Mint would need to be installed and tested for compatibility.

Linux Mint is of no cost to you.

    Sorry about this.

    Sorry about this.
    What why?

Seems like I already got what I needed to know. Guess no more relying on this tin can. But yeah, huge thanks.

    No worries.

Shop around. There are some great buys out there.
Stay away from CPU's marked as Celeron.

I've seen some decent stuff out there for US $300.
    Just don't expect miracles.
