    Windows 10 Slow and Fast-booting 50/50

This has been going on for a few months now. Sometimes when I power on the PC, Windows would take about 15 minutes to boot up. Other times it takes less than a minute. There's a 50/50 chance of it doing this. I've no idea why it just doesn't fast boot every single time. This is an old computer but it's pretty quick when it comes to work and web surfing. This is by no means a gaming PC. Is there a way to make it fast boot every single time? Here are the specs:

    ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo Motherboard
    Corsair 750 Watt Power Supply
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Processor 2.83GHz
    4 GB RAM
    Windows 10 Pro x64
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 555

hi, assuming you have fast startup enabled, suggests perhaps a difference between it using that and not. However, 15 mins is very long- too long,

Are you certain that when it takes 15 mins, it is not
    - running chkdsk
    - processing a Windows update
    ?

Nope. No chkdsk or updates. I had fast startup enabled but disabled it after watching a few YouTube videos which say to disable it. I'm about to test it now to see how fast it boots up.

Well, that didn't work. I turned it back on.

Thank you for your reply. You might wish to check your disk:

    Will do.

Ok. So, it says that the hard disk status is perfect. No actions needed.

Yeah. That's a good idea. I will consider it. We're done here. Thx.

A Question: do you have any usb drives (which may have a boot sector, that can be booted from)?
Try unplugging them and any flash drives and remove sd card as well.
Check bios for boot order, and try to run Startup repair settings/update and security/recovery.
you might try clean boot start/run msconfig.exe

I have no USB drives and sd cards plugged in. I went into the System Configuration and selected Normal Startup. So far it has booted fast 4 times. I think this was the problem.
