Yes sleep mode (to ram, not hibernate), and why isnt it an option. You shouldnt let your PC stay on 24/7 if it's not a server, it lets age your components, and it uses energy for nothing.
I will try it. Thanks. I will let this thread open anyway, maybe someone have a solution.

I have this same problem as well after so many hours of usage. The problem appears to be with cortana. Next time it happens open task manager and end the cortana task. It will restart itself after a couple seconds. Now try the start button again. Should be quick.

Thanks man. Ill try it when problem appear again. So i understand there is no 100% solution? only wait for patch from Microsoft.

So, there is not 100% to destroy problem entirely, we have only wait for patch, but i have found out that this issue appears due to Cortana (Search). Thanks matt6575 for told me where to look, i guessed that was Cortana fail, but i needed proof.

Anyway when u get this problem u just should restart cortana using Task Manager or say: Hey, Cortana (if you turn on this option early).

Half a sec lag seems normal though. Is it an older pc? SSD? Cortana stopping to work also is normal, aka a bug. There a lots of those bugs which will sadly (hopefully) be fixed in the upcoming big patch in 2-3 months.
None of this is normal, I don't have any of these issues.

Make sure that all of the latest drivers are installed, and the SSD has the latest firmware. A lot of people are having issues with SSDs on Windows 10.

The same problem here, OS kinda bugs after several days of usage, I am starting to have some problems.

    - The start opening is delayed, its kinda annoying, and yes, that 0.5-1 sec is pretty long,
    - Notification panel doesn`t wanna open, clicking on it but nothing
    - Search web and Windows didnt work either, was clicking on it but nothing.....though working after restart
    - several programs take long to open, and some other issues

Have Windows 10 64-bit SSD and HDD, both have free space.
12GB RAM and Intel i-5 processor, everything should work smoothly, and this is new Win 10 Installation....

What are the rest of your system specs? See if we have anything in common.
