    Should i compress my ssd?

I'm cleaning my computer using windows disk cleanup, and im seeing an option to compress my ssd, which will save me about 8 gb on my ssd. But, it keeps saying that regardless of how many times i run disk cleanup. Does anyone know how to fix this bug?

Solved, i decided not to compress my folders, as it slows down windows.

Where are you seeing the option to compress the file system?

You see the option to compress the OS files when you run Disk Cleanup in user or admin mode.

Strange, it's not showing as an option in my disk cleanup options, and I've never seen it there before!

I wonder why it appears on some, but not on mine?

Maybe you have so much free space that Disk Cleanup is programmed no to offer you the compression option in that situation? This a new option I've only noticed in the past few weeks.

    Strictly IMO.

The days of compression (whole drive) are over.
It should be turned off. I'm surprised that the option is still being offered.

Move seldom used data to near-line storage such as an internal HDD or other external USB drive.

    FWIW.

Might still be useful for small storage devices, like netbooks etc.
