    Task Manager Not Available

So was given a HP Probook g3 laptop from my company as they were upgrading to newer machines. I installed a clean version of Windows 10 Pro on it. But cannot get Task Manager to work. I have gone into gpedit and disabled the group policy and went into the registry and did the same thing. Reboot and it's disabled again. Anyone know of any other ways to get it back?

    Thanks

There should be no group policy settings preventing Task Manager on a Clean Install of Windows 10, any version.
How did you do the Clean Install? Did you follow directions or wing it? Where did you get the copy of Windows 10 to install?

Try again: Follow this tutorial: Windows 10 - Clean Install

    Clean Install

So I got the ISO from MSDN so no issues there. I am pretty sure I did the install just fine since I've rebuilt machines with no issues but this one. This one was from an old IT department which was from a school but figured it wouldn't matter since it's a clean install of WIN10 Pro

Did you delete all partitions and install to a raw, unallocated drive? If not, might want to start over doing it that way.

What version is the ISO? Current available is 17763.253 1809 via MCT (Media Creation Tool).

Therein lies the issue. I installed from an old DVD cause I couldn't find my thumb drive with that ISO on it

Even an older version should be okay if you truly did a clean install as I described. Better to get another 8GB or larger flash drive and install the latest available Win 10 ISO though.

Ztruker thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the most up to date ISO from MSDN did ANOTHER clean install and now I am all set. Task Manager is available. Any idea what might have caused the issue?

No, sorry. All I can think of is a corrupted ISO but that is very unlikely.

Glad you have it all working now though.
