sudden extremely slow hp laptop on windows 10

A couple weeks ago my hp laptop suddenly began running very slowly. I have never had this happen before. the laptop is three years old and I have plenty of memory left. I d/l malwarebytes and it found one pup and quaranteed it. I d/led spybot and adaware and found basically nothing. I have tried many ideas and disabled various services ect. but to no avail so far. one curious thing is the microsoft management console is now appearing when trying to open task manager or services ect please help

Hi, please first check that if you create a new user for test puposes that you then see the same thing. If not, the problem is most likely with your user profile.

If you do, then I recommend you
a. check your disk (routine check) - e.g. HD Tune, health and error scan tabs
b. If ok, do an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data and most settings

N.B. you must use an iso of the same build as you have installed, else you could upgrade if e.g. 1803->1809.
