Laptop is hibernating when plugged in when setting says not to

On my Dell laptop, I have all sleep type settings off or on very high minutes so that it doesn't. I have System unattended sleep timeout showing and that is set high also. Still, after I come home after several hours, my laptop is shut down. I ran sleep diagnostics and it shows my laptop hibernating after 3 hours. This time setting matches what it shows when on battery power. I can't seem to find out why it is doing this. Is it possible that though my laptop is plugged in and reaches a full charge, it is somehow now confusing it thinking it's running battery power? I know that sounds strange but I can't think of why it won't stay awake.

    Welcome to Tenforums! @ToddM

Have a look at these 2 tutorials and see if they can help. They deal with the Unattended Sleep parameters. Maybe setting the value to "never" would help.

When I activated that after searching around some yesterday, it did not give me an option to set to never, just allowed me to change the amount of minutes higher or lower. Is there a value such as setting to 0 that equates to never?

I had a problem with my lappy going back to sleep after a short amount of time and used the posted links
    to fix it.

    I have these settings.

Usually on all those settings, at the very bottom of the dropdown is "never". I'm not on a lappy, and don't have those in my power options, so you would need to check. Sould be right under 0. Example:

Sleep after is different from System unattended sleep timeout. Sleep is never, SUST does not have the never setting.

In this link, I used Option two to add it.

Thanks for the help but in my original post I stated that I had all settings at never and that I had added system unattended before posting also and set that to a high minutes amount. This morning it was working as it should. I am not sure if it will revert back but it appears there are no other settings to add or check so I will just continue to monitor and hope for the best.

Really glad to hear that. Some issues were fixed in Windows version 1809 that were a problem in 1803 or before. That's the reason for asking what version you are on. Would be helpful if the problem comes back. Thanks for keeping us updated.
