The minimum ram requirement is 2GB. What your computer idles at will obviously be different based on which applications and windows features you have enabled.

That's typical. I just rebooted and am using 1.6 on 10 home.

1.4 is used after optimisation i can get 1.2 but this is the lower i can get also by desabling java background I have some software that are notebook spacific i am afrade of turning them off

i have 4GB ram i will be upgradding to 8 or 16 in the future but im new to windows 10 but is seams that is more resource hog than windows 7 app use more ram than the same apps on windows 7

Whether we like it or not, Mix, Windows 10 is a much more robust OS than Windows 7; thus, takes a bit more oomph to run.

My system came with 8 GB RAM (2 4 GB sticks) and Windows 8 Home. I also had a free copy of Windows 8.1 Pro, so I used that to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. Later, I decided I needed more RAM, so I bought two 8 GB sticks for 16 GB. Urgh, I had the two 4 GB sticks left over, so I decided to see if those would work. They did! So, bottom line is that I now have 24 GB in this desktop.

Why am I telling you this? Because, according to what's already in your machine, you might be able to do what I did.

2 x 2 GB sticks plus 2 x 4 GB sticks will give you 12 GB. Or, 2 x 2 GB sticks plus 2 x 8 GB sticks would give you 20 GB. If you want to go this route, be sure to get the same type (mine's DDR 3) so they'll match up.

its an AMD A9-9425 i have a stic of 4GB i will update it to 8GB only for vm requirements as i use the laptop primarily for developing purpose the laptop was optimize as far as i could disabling services telemetry start-up apps registry keys background apps removed windows junk and bloatware that came with the laptop I know the cpu is weak. Windows 10 isa fantastic if it is optimized the version of home is 1809 I didnt removed hp bloatware as it could be a service that is required for the laptop to be able to run. The only thing i saw is that windows 10 use more cpu and use more ram per app. I think the system requirements that microsoft clams 1 Ghz cpu 2 GB ram is too low a dual core cpu would be the minimum to be able to use and to do things in windows 10. Windows 7 for me was less cpu ressource hog. My cpu is idleing at 1% anytime if i see task mager is but even task manger use cpu In 7 is was 0-2% with my athlon 64 x2 6400+

I am a very amateur photographer and do some graphics work so adding extra RAM to my machine wasn't wasted one iota. It makes a huge difference when manipulating my photos.

I understand as i see 16 GB ram is a must have if you are using photoshop and big files
