Windows Audio Graph high CPU. No option to disable enhancements.

Windows Audio Graph high CPU. No option to disable enhancements.

high CPU use by the WIndows Audio Graph Isolation is leading to running hot, poor battery life and noisy fan.

Most help suggests to disable the enhancements in the speaker properties box. But this "enhancements" tab does not show for any of my audio output devices.

I am running an HP spectre 360 with Realtek Audio manager. i have reinstalled the realtek drive with no change.

Other than that I connect a pair of bluetooth headphones and listen to music using Groove.

It is killing me having to take my power cord every where. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hi, please start by working methodically through each step here and confirm that you have done each of these.

Fix: High CPU Usage by audiodg.exe - Appuals.com

Then this one mentions Skype (if unused, you could uninstall it) and the audio troubleshooter:
Fix Audiodg.exe High CPU usage in Windows 10

That will help to give a starting point.

Please complete your system specs (see mine for comparison - My computer below my post). When was your laptop released/what OS did it originally come with and which is the latest OS for which drivers are available might be indicative).

Which Windows build are you using?
This can be really important, and most people don't mention it or include it in their specs.
    Windows key + R, winver

Please post a screenshot of your task manager, organising CPU use high to low by clicking on the CPU column heading.
To post a screenshot please use the Insert Image icon above your post. Thanks.

Verify the location of the process as in the article below under
Could this process be a virus?

Try uninstalling the Realtek audio driver completely. You should then be running with the MS driver. You should then be able to see the sound enhancements tab.

    Is there any change?

    Thanks

My issue appears to be fixed.

I went through the steps outlined in the first link

Fix: High CPU Usage by audiodg.exe - Appuals.com

Turning off the volume adjustment and uninstalling and reinstalling the driver did not work.

Then I did a few things together (bad I know) so I am not sure which was the silver bullet.

    1. I uninstalled skype.
    2. As I did this I checked the event viewer and saw that the there were many errors with "\Driver\WUDFRd " which I think is the update service so I manually did a windows update and there was a service pack waiting.
    3. I disabled a sony bluetooth speaker I had recently added
    4. On rebooting the computer the issue is gone.

I suspect it was skype. I will repost if it reappears. So nice to have a quiet laptop again.

    Thanks for your help!

hope it stays that way. Also noted a reference to this in conjunction with Realtek sound effects on one thread.

Here's a solved one on HP Spectre 360 I found - just in case.
