    Very very slow win 10

    My Desktop taking too much time to open. Even after opening a circle keeps spining and does not alow to open any thing. Clicking PC icon takes too much time to show all the partition and drives. Even right click context menu takes time. Adobe DC is installed but pdf files takes time to open in comparison to word or excel files. My System Drive is Ssd and only windows is installed on this drive. There are two other drivesbut they are sata. PC is amd DDR3 4 GB and around 7 years old. Scanned with Avast and no problem
    Even when it starts working normally, suddenly it will hang and again a circle will start spinning.
    Is it due to AMD or something else. How to figure out the problem.

    Has something recently been installed or updated? Are there any clues in Reliability Monitor or Event Viewer? Use Autoruns to check/disable third party programs loading on start-up. Is the response better in Safe Mode where minimal drivers are loaded?

    What to see in Event Viewer? Disabled third party programs in msconfig. Nothing new installed.

    Hi @sam9,

    Please take a boot trace, it will tell us what's causing this slowness;

    1. Download and Install windows Performance Toolkit https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...ed/adk-install . Choose the package corresponding to your Windows .
    2. Just install the "Windows Performance Toolkit" package.
    3. Record a trace using Windows Performance Recorder using these options: https://justpaste.it/1g4sx
    4. Compress the resulting file (very important)
    5. Share it through https://www.transfernow.net/en/ or any other file sharing platform.

    In event viewer, there is an event ID 1003, the software protection service has completed licensing status check. This service is hundred times repeating.

    I just added my MS account to my Windows 10 and after that PC performance has quitely increased and no freezing. Though even now there is certain errors in Event Viewer but no issue of hanging. Does this mean MS intentionaly freezing your PC to compel you to to add MS account to your Windows. Pl comment.

    No, It was not because of MS account linkage. It was something else.
