    Initial boot up turning into hard reset


    Hey everyone hope you're all enjoying your holidays!

    I've currently started experiencing issues with my system probably within the last month give or take, my computer on boot up starts normally I get onto my desktop and within 5 minutes my 3 monitor displays go black, the computer continues to run and audio still seems to be coming through my headphones but nothing I do seems to get the displays to return. I then have to hard reset my PC and once it boots again everything is fine it does not go black screen again, however if I play some games for hours on end nothing happens but as soon as I stop playing the game within about 5-10 minutes the display goes black and I have to restart the computer again.

    My temperatures are within parameters, i've updated my drivers and uninstalled my GPU drivers as I figured that might be the likely suspect of a rouge driver but the problem still persists. I receive no errors on my AMD software or in eventviewer.

    Now I have already ordered a new GPU(1080ti) and PSU(EVGA 750w Supernova 80 gold) as those are my only two older parts left in my PC and I feel like I've the gut feeling its one of the two but just want to confirm. My current PSU is a 750watt Corsair don't know the model # but I've had it for maybe 5-7 years and my GPU is about 5 years old.Any information would be greatly appreciated!

    There are log collectors that are used in another forum that may be useful in troubleshooting the problems.
    Run both DM and BETA log collectors and post zips into this thread:

    1) Download and install Everything:
    voidtools

    2) Use everything to search for: PoW32kWatchdog-20181224-1452.dmp > zip > post a share link into the thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive

    4) Turn off Windows fast startup:
    Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10 | Tutorials

    5) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    6) sfc /scannow
    7) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    8) chkdsk /scan
    9) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    10) Make sure that there is no over clocking while troubleshooting.

    11) Uninstall everything AMD using Display driver uninstaller and install new drivers from the AMD website.

    12) Onthe AMD web site be sure the "clean install" box is checked and only install the graphics driver.

    The logs had displayed a prior BSOD in October.
    There were multiple live kernel events related to AMD GPU
    The dump file displayed problems related to the AMD GPU
    The logs displayed approximately 15 unexpected shutdowns/restarts
    These are typically displayed when there is are power offs.
    Windows had failed fast startup.

    Windows will automatically delete memory dumps if the windows drive free space is < 25 GB.
    A typical dump file is 500 to 2000 MB and can be larger so keeping the free drive space > 30 GB can ensure that if the memory dumps are created they will be less likely to be deleted.

    The computer should be more stable after the above steps.
    The BSOD settings need to modified so that if there are any BSOD they will be less likely to be missed.
    After the images below are posted they will be modified

    Report into the thread the changes in performance.

    Steps were posted above to uninstall and reinstall the AMD GPU.


    In the left lower corner search type: system or system control > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings

    a) > on the advanced tab under startup and recovery > click settings > post an image of the startup and recovery window into the thread

    b) > on the advanced tab under performance > click on settings > on the performance options window > click on the advanced tab > under virtual memory > click on change > post an image of the virtual memory window into the thread

    I'm uncertain how to create your scroll box that you have but here is the results from cmd as well I completed the above tasks will work on DDU again but I have done that a couple a days ago. Added system and recovery photo as requested.

    1) To fix the above post:
    a) click edit
    b) post the results into the thread that had been posted
    (not a new copy and paste)

    2) A post from notepad then view image > then edit > then repost

    3) For startup and recovery system failure:
    a) Uncheck automatically restart
    b) reboot to maintain settings


    4) When automatically restart is checked it can be easy to miss BSOD.
    When there is a BSOD with automatically restart unchecked there should be a BSOD window with bugcheck and : (
    Sometimes you may see a misbehaving driver in the form *.sys
    At the very beginning of a BSOD you may see a % counter
    If you see the % counter allow it to rise to 100% before rebooting


    5) When available please post an image of Virtual Memory


    6) Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:
    dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread
