    Laptop Performance

I'll try to make this to the point.

Recently formatted / reinstalled Win10 Pro on my HP laptop. After updates and setup, it ran pretty decent considering the specs. In last day the performance has dropped badly as well as websites loads so slow. My internet speeds are good. It shouldn't be something I installed as I've only installed stuff I've used before. I'm guessing it's a setting, component, service, or something of that nature that got changed along the way.

The way it acts & the way the performance dropped so quickly, it really seems like it's a small fix, just tedious.

Anyone willing to get on TV & check it out by chance? By check it out I mean check stuff like settings, registry, services, gpedit and all that. Maybe it's a quick easy fix someone would notice quickly.

    Any help is appreciated.

P.S. I hate that my 1st post here is this thread begging for help, but had no choice. Plus, this'll be the 1st Win10 PC I've had in a long time so until now haven't had a need to join here.

Hi, please post a screenshot of your task manager
    a. when your PC is nominally idle
    b. when you are experiencing what you see as slow performance.
(Please specify this as exactly as you can).

Make sure relevant columns are organised high to low by clicking on the appropriate column header.

If useful information is shown in the Resource Monitor, please post that too.

How much free space do you have on C: ?

Is your only problem the speed with which sites load? How many tabs do you then typically have open?

To post a screenshot please use the Insert Image icon above your post. Thanks.

Here's a bunch of info, idk what's useful if any.

    Code:
    Background Apps Allowed:	No
    Extra Windows Store Apps:	Removed
Startup Items: None	+	Removed from registry.
Win Defender: 1 or 2 Disabled settings set in gpedit.
    Indexing: Disabled / Locations removed.
    Browser: Firefox (Chrome sucks also.)
FF Settings: Tried enable / disable HW Accel both no good as well as process limit.
Extensions: Adblock, Web Compat, 'unnamed' ext from Google, Form Autofill
    Avg Active Tabs: 1 - 3
Activities: Usually web browsing or surveys. (Surveys irrelevant. Been doing em years. Not the problem.)

*Some apps / software runs fine in speed.
*Some websites load fast, some insanely slow.
*Most tabs don't load until I've sat on it at least a few seconds.
*Lots of 'hanging' time. Apps constantly either freeze up or stuck in certain apps.
    Code:

Here's a screenshot of my task manager as an example:

As you can see it's organised by Memory. You may need to choose a different column header.

Please respond to each point in my post.

    That's what I mean. Thanks.

The one I showed you was organized by memory though wasn't it?
    Here's another.

I would not expect much from that "Walmart" budget computer. I would install an SSD and more ram in that order.

I am not knocking Walmart or your computer specifically. I see many computers similar to yours in my shop complaining about speed/ performance issues.

Those specs seem fine enough to get by. Check you have proper drivers installed (from manufacturer if possible). Check for malware too if you are feeling browsing the web is slow.

    There wasn't one shown...

I note you have Windows Problem Reporting active in yours.. please have a look at your Reliability History (Reli in Cortana's search field e.g.) and click on red x's etc to see details of what's crashing.

    Might be relevant.

You haven't said whether that screenshot was taken when you felt performance is slow.

You could check your DNS performance - freeware dnsjumper can be useful.

It's hard to screenshot in slow performance since that'd mean it's slow and wouldn't run the capture in time properly.
Even when it's slow, it's not much different than the screenshot, though depending on the website, maybe a bit more.
I'll check out that freeware here in a bit, thank you. Btw, do you know what 'xtajit.dll' is for? I tried googling it, but only results about Wow64 and Arm64 or something. It's a .dll I see enabled in autoruns. Last Q: Are any of these necessary or highly recommended to have installed? Visual C++ (Any) Java, Adobe Flash Player, Silverlight, Adobe Shockwave.

I'll knock it, lol it's shit. But it's not like I picked it out myself haha, or paid for it.
I don't expect much from it, but I can tell somethings up. It seriously seems like it could even be something i just need to install, uninstall or a changed setting. Hopefully at least.
