It tentatively looks like you could do a clean install and put everything on what is now D. It would then become C.

Are disk 0 and disk 1 in fact 2 totally discrete drives, rather than 2 separate parts of the same drive?

Two drives in a laptop is uncommon, but certainly possible. I'm just wondering if you have some sort of a hybrid drive situation.

Might help if we had an HP model number.

Are both disk 0 and disk 1 internal non-detachable drives? Is either an SSD?

You have about 9 GB of something on D now. What is it?

At the end of the second decade of the 21st century fussing over space on a 100 GB disk drive is like scavenging a meal from a dumpster. Storage is too cheap.

So, two things:
1. Most programs let you install them in any folder on any drive you choose. So, with so much storage available on D:, install them there instead of on C:
2. Disk drives are cheap. Can you replace the 100 GB C: drive with a bigger one? You can get 2000 GB for under $75. Or a 512 GB SSD for about that much money.

You can clean up Nvidia drivers for start:

Go to C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Downloader

remove all folders with random names, only leave config and latest drivers.

After that navigate to

C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Installer2

and remove all folder inside (don't remove instaler2 folder)

I finally broke down and bought a new computer 2 years ago, an ASUS from their business line, instead of building one. It came with a 1TB drive with 2 usable partitions, C: at 150GB and D: at about 770GB. I labeled/named D: as Data and store all downloads on it plus use a Custom install to it for most programs. As a result my C: drive is only about half full and have lots of room available on D:. The last several years have shown quite an improvement in speed of access to data, both in the hard drives and the computer system itself, not like the days back when I had an 80486/80MHz computer with 3 x 345MB hard drives running MS-DOS 6.22 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11.

Well,,,,this is an update of what I have done. I reinstalled Wolfenstein to the D drive and any other new progs that I can goes there as well, I also directed the Picture, Documents, music, folders from the quick access menu to D as well, I have a problem with the downloads folder but I think I will start a new thread for that. The C drive is less than 50% full now.
I have a MSI dragon GV72 7RE comp and it has 2 drives the C is Samsung MZN 119gb and the D is HGST 931gb, so with a bit more fiddling I think I will be happy.
The 900mb partition on the C drive is for the MSI recovery I think and it keeps notifying me to do it but it says it will format the disk first and I want to be sure that I can do it and not do any harm.

If like my 1TB drive with C: and D: partitions plus other small ones those small ones should not have a drive letter assigned which in turn should not be giving messages about being full. In Disk Management assure those small partitions are not lettered.
