Sorry for the delay. I have been puzzling about this and used the powercfg commands.
However, without any knowledge about this I end up with 'Now what?'
I don't know which parameter to use, except the /Q and where to look.
FWIW - I added the files, but again, sorry to say, but I really have no idea where to look for what.
Disable hibernate with powercfg /h off, Set lid to not shut off when connected with power, when closing it, Power Button to turn off, CPU should not be max on battery, Critical Battery needs to be set to shutdown. Does not matter with plugged in, Low Battery needs to be set for shutdown. Screen should always go to a off state or sleep whether the laptop is plugged in or not and the lid is left up.

The only thing I want and which seems to be hard to configure: a hotkey that simply turns off the display, same way as a power button, but keep the laptop running, i.e. it shouldn't fall asleep or something.
Until... I hit some key or move the mouse.
I read about nircmd monitor off, I read something about "powercfg -change -monitor-timeout-ac 0"
I did the hibernate thing and changed a few settings in the power+sleep advanced settings.
Maybe I should leave the display on even in case of low battery: at least I get a notification instead of just shutting down, me wondering why.
Regretfully, the above scenario does not entirely work. I use a hotkey to turn off the display, but it turns on again after a short while (a couple of minutes)
Something is triggering it to wake up. Dig deeper into the tasks and also look at the diagnostics for powercfg.
What about (I know, this sounds silly) just turn off the display with it's power switch?

@bro67 - the 'revised' powerplan results in the laptop going into sleep mode, the ssd stops and the backup program that is copying files from pc to laptop runs into an error (I should keep my mouse moving regularly so as to keep things alive).

This laptop also has a powerplan named "Timers Off (Presentation)" - AFAIK the idea is that in case of a presentation, turn off's and/or sleep situations are not desired, i.e. the laptop should run at maximum speed, without sleep disturbances, whatever.
I gave that one a try. I started running backup from pc to laptop, however, the laptop fell asleep after a short while nonetheless.
Apparently I can't run a backup unattended, I need to make a move with my mouse every 1-2 minutes.

I meant to say, the display of my laptop (Lenovo P52) doesn't have a kind power switch / button that can be found on any desktop display, i.e. the display goes on/off by using the main power button, or a hotkey.
I meanwhile discovered that some 'timer' may be causing the laptop go to sleep.
Regretfully I have the knowledge where to look, for which timer and if at all how to disable it.

When I use a power plan that I think is a bit specific for Lenovo, viz 'Timers Off (Presentation)'
Then all is running full speed without any energy savings.
Using the hotkey to turn off the display then, it stays turned off.
Your My Computer specifications say you have a PC/Desktop. If it's a laptop you need to tell us that up front as well as the make and model number and version of Windows 10 it's running. Press the Windows key and enter winver to see what it is.
