Easiest Way to Repairing/Cleaning System Registry

My Avast notified me that I have some bad registries on my PC that need to be resolved. Not sure if they just want me to buy their product but is there a free, better way to clean any registries that may be bad, preferably a way that doesn't involve reinstalling Windows? I haven't experienced any issues thus far but I don't wanna take chances.

So-called 'bad' registry entries are typically things like a record of the path to a recently executed app that no longer exists at the location held in the registry. I have hundreds of such 'bad' entries, mainly referring to such things as an installer I downloaded, ran, then deleted. Errors like this do no harm at all if left in the registry.

Leave them be - no harm will come of it. You're more likely to have 'issues' after an over-enthusiatic 'clean up' than from any such registry entry. It's just scare tactics to make you buy 'Avast Cleanup'.
