Windows File Explorer Column Details for Audio files

Does anyone know of a way to get bloody file explorer to show audio bit depth and frequency in details view. there seems to be no column heading for those.

    Can I hack/reg-add/some-other_way this?

Hi, best I can do is this:

Bit depth appears in the column for image files, and for flac files in the Details pane, for example.

    I know - I told you-

Bit depth appears in the column for image files, and for flac files in the Details pane, for example.
Bit depth does not seem available for mp3's..

And I'm wondering, what exactly do you mean by frequency? Sampling rate? Frequency of what?

Oh, and it makes a difference depending on the file type....

You can experiment with File Metadata (free) - used in my example- to see what you might be able to add, but there are distinct limits.

oh brilliant. I just saw what you mean.

    Audio Sample Rate = Frequency
Audio Sample size = Bit Depth

They are both indeed listed in the details pane. Didnt thinl to lool there.

Now, how do I get those two values listed in columns so Incan sort through thousands of files quickly without having to go through the details pane for every file? I’ll have a look at File Metadata. But shouldnt that be doable on a windows file manager native bases since the file manager seems to have access to that data already...

    Right click on attribute headers,
I've never seen a column for frequency or kHz or anything like that; maybe with certain types of files...

Can only seem to get sample rate in Properties, I think...

There used to be an interesting text about File Metadata and why explorer is restricted... it adds back some features, but won't give you exactly what you seek I think. Definitely worth looking at.

    CodePlex Archive

    Download File Metadata 1.5
