Program monitor

Hello
i have a DVSA driving theory program installed on two pc’s it varies which one is used for practice tests...

I need to know where the program stores it’s student progress, so I can copy that file / folder to the PC that is to be used. I tried copying the install folder contents but that made no difference to the progress on the 2nd PC..

is is there a way to monitor where the program stores its progress folder / files ?

the publisher refused to tell me where the save file was stored, saying it was copyright, can’t see how MY save data can be copyright.....anyway I found the folder in Appdata/Roaming and copied it to the other PC and now can continue the lesson so long as this file moves with me....

I now have a second question, is it possible to create a condition such that when a Program /App is closed/ exited a fiolder is copied to a USB pen.....I.e. when I exit the program the relevant folder in Appdata/ Roaming is copied t my USB pen...

if I write a batch file do I need to add start t run the .exe ?
will the batch file wait automatically until the .exe program I ran has exited ?then move on to the copy folder command ?

Is this possible ? Would be great if it could be done .......some sort of OnExit routine !!!

Someone might be able to script that for you. Personally I'd use Autover.

You can set it to watch a file or folder (or multiples) and auto backup if any watched file or folder contents change.

Sorry but I don't use cloud backup so cannot test. I reckon that you'd have to sync your Autover backup folder folder with dropbox using another utility.

Maybe to a usb pen would be simpler.....I assume I can set how many backups of each file folder monitored would be saved ..? Then I can just chose the one with the newest date......just in case ......

You could use USB as backup folder. The program would save all changed versions of files with a time/ date stamp and you just pick the most recent if that's the version you need.
