"Power Savings Switch" is changed. (1809 update)

After updating Win10 with the fall update version 1809 I got the above pop-up, no matter how many times I reboot this pop-up is there every time I log on.

I cannot find a "Power Saving Switch" in my Power Settings, does anyone know what this is or what it does? or at the very least how I can remove this pop-up?

This only came about after the 1809 fall update (last week), all my drivers are up to date and no other changes were made to my computer other than the Windows Ten 1809 update.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Someone else had the same problem and posted the following...
I had the same problem. I solved it by uninstalling Asus ATK Package.

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately it didn't work for me. I have updated my graphics driver and also restored my power settings to their defaults, neither of these "fixes" worked either. I thought maybe MS patch Tuesday updates would fix it but it didn't.

Other than this annoying pop-up I have had no issues with the 1809 update, but I would still like to remove it (the pop-up) if I can. I am open to any and all suggestions. Thanks again.

That's not a Windows 10 message, it's coming from something that's installed on your PC. You can use Clean Boot to see if it occurs. If not then follow the instructions to isolate what is causing the problem.

Hi, you can identify the program by running the exe (in zip attached) and clicking that window- example:

    Thanks for your replies guys...

Ztruker, I performed a quick clean boot this morning and the "Power Saving Switch" window was still present, I have yet to follow up with the troubleshooting procedures and will probably do so tonight.

dalchina, I ran AU3_Spy and the program was identified as an AutoHotKey, ahk_class #32770 to be exact. Considering the window is titled "Power Saving Switch" I assume this is a hot key to switch between power modes?

Unfortunate it doesn't tell you more.

I've discovered this is to do with some ASUS utility.

This text will give you a clue (translated from a forum - not sure of the language):
ASUS, W10, build 1809: Power Saving Switch is changed. Vyřešeno. - poradna.net

I finally found the solution, maybe someone would throw it. Applies to ASUS notebooks, this is probably their specific problem. But it's possible that it's happening on other notebooks, maybe something similar will help ... In "running applications," I found a "Power Saving Switch" linking to WDC.exe in the C: \ Program Files (x86) \ ASUS \ ATK Hotkey \ directory. I closed the window with a message ("Reboot later") and WDC.exe was renamed to WDC.neexe, so it did not work. After restart it does not jump.
I know this is a "strange" solution, but because I do not use any battery-saving function (I have never set my mind), NB goes to the original flashlight and without an electrical connection. network for an hour, I do not mind. It's only NB on my way out of my home to get somewhere on the internet, otherwise I'm not starting it.

Thanks dalchina, your solution worked! It was indeed a "strange" solution but it worked none the less. I too do not use any battery saving functions so it's of no use to me. I no longer have to see that annoying "Power Saving" window every time I log in!

It's just odd to me that this issue never existed until I installed the most recent (1809) update, which I understand is quite "buggy". Thanks again.

@dalchina, that is a neat little program. Much simpler to use than Process Explorer.

Where did you find it. It's window title says Active Window Info.

Edit: Ah, found this info on it. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...-can-i-find-it
    It's part of Autohotkey.

Yep, and there's this (attached) too.

    And - somewhat different-
    Window Detective

(And to support Autohotkey, there's the SciTE4AutoHotkey Editor)
